Podcast 123. Chilling Scares
Podcast 123. Chilling Scares. "5 Most Disturbing Cases of Real Found Footage." October 1, 2026. Currently ranked 63. This podcast showed and narrator talked about five videos found. One was a guy talking about how he was going to torture and murder some people in a cult that had abused him as a child. He ended up killing himself after the first murder. The next one was a woman confessing to killing her children. The next one was teenagers exploring an abandoned mine. One of them fell 60 feet when the rope broke. They got out and got help. They all recovered fine. The next one was about some divers trying to open up pipes getting sucked into the pipes. Four of them died as no rescue attempt was made. Which is pretty outrageous. The fifth video was a scuba diver who died going to a dangerous place where others warned him not to go without more preparation.
Podcast 122. Radar
Podcast 122. Radar. "Radar: Meet Adéla." September 22, 2026. Currently ranked 36. This episode was seven minutes long. This one was at least a real podcast in that there was talking involved. It was this singer Adéla telling her background. She is from Slovakia. Grew up on smuggled pop music. She liked the Disney channel growing up and Miley Cyrus.
Podcast 121. MTV VMAs.
Podcast 121. MTV VMAs. "Storm II -Live at the 2026 MTV VMAs." September 28, 2026. This is currently ranked number two. This was quite the change from the last podcast as this one was only three minutes long. It is unclear how Spotify justifies itself in calling this a podcast for the podcast list. It was a musical performance with zero talking.
Podcast 120. Lex Fridman Podcast
Podcast 120. Lex Fridman Podcast."#502. Psychiatry, Insane Asylums, Mental Illness, ECT, Lobotemies, Freud & Jung." September 17, 2026. It was ranked 73 when I began and unranked when I finished. The episode I listened to was 3 hours and 43 minutes long. I though a lot of the history of treating mental illness was interesting. It was a conversation with Andrew Scull, who is a historian of psychiatry. He had a lot of info on the mistakes that were made throughout history.

Podcasts 103-118
Podcast 103. JYP Podcast. Released August 17, 2026. "Inside 3RACHA's Inspiration. Current ranking is 62. This is a Korean language podcast with English subtitles. Unfortunately, I can't read the subtitles as I listen while I am doing other things. I did listen to it and understood words such as: Harry Potter, playlist, and Youtube. The only part of the subtitles I read was when they said Harry Potter. One of the guys says around Christmas every year, he puts the Harry Potter movies on in the background. Even if he doesn't watch all of it, it's in the background every year.
Podcast 104. Nourish Move Love Home Workouts. August 20, 2026. "7 Min Deep Core + Pelvic Floor Workout. No Equipment, No Repeat." Current ranking 71. I didn't realize that any home workouts would be on Spotify's top 100. I thought about doing the workout for my daily exercise but I didn't because this workout is designed for women. It did test my determination to listen to all these podcasts but I passed. I just listened to it so I heard instructions on what to do and a bunch of counting. They had two people that viewers could model their exercise after one was for beginners and one was for advanced.
Podcast 105. Scandal. August 21, 2026. "Lindsay Clancy Case Rocked by Explosive Witness Testimony." Current ranking 75. This is the second podcast I have listened to about the Lindsay Clancy case. This podcast showed more of the trial while the other podcast was more with the assumption that the listener had already heard the trial and it went into analysis. One thing that I think is a serious flaw in our legal system is expert witnesses getting highly paid to say what one side wants them to say. Here this Dr. Zeizel gets paid tons of money by the defense. A guest on this podcast praises Dr. Zeizel for what a good job he did for the defense but I think it is pretty scummy to be a hired gun who would say anything for money that can help a murderer get off. Another problem with this legal system is how mental illness can be used to escape legal consequences. In the other podcast the host at the end mentioned how it is a dangerous message to tell people with mental health problems that they don't have agency. I think to ask a jury to know what is inside someone's brain beyond a reasonable doubt is too much. Lindsay Clancy strangled her three children to death and deserves prison. She can use mental health as an excuse but that is pure evil and I hope it doesn't work.
Podcast 106. The Truth about Natalie. August 24, 2026. "Episode 3: Red Flags." Current ranking 67.This podcast explored the death of Natalie Jones. Police believe she died of a drug overdose but a no drugs were found in her system. I don't have confidence in police to care enough about things to get it right. There were some things not adding up but I wasn't a fan of this podcast because I think the host had some bad logic. Such as acting as if there were no way she would park her car in the spot where she was because she couldn't open her door. But if she were on drugs and she were dying she might not be thinking of such things.
Podcast 107. Murder with my husband. August 24, 2026. "335. The Aliso Viejo Spa Bombing- The Murder of Ildiko Krajnyak." They started this podcast talking about Lindsay Clancy. The host was talking about how he didn't really look into it too much but then he did a bunch of speculation. If I were a podcast host I would definitely research such things before talking. Most of the podcast was about this bombing. His wife talks most the time. She did the research on the story and he reacts to what she says. I thought the case was interesting to listen to. Ildiko Krajnyak was a serial cheater who was married and had many boyfriends. One of them got mad when he found out about the others and killed her with a bomb.
Podcast 108. Park Predators. August 25, 2026. "The Pavillion." This podcast told the story of a murder in the 1970s.
Podcast 109. Are You Garbage? Comedy Podcast. August 24, 2026. "Midwestern Dirtbag w/ Prof!" The hosts interviewed a rapper named Prof. We got background on him growing up. He had some interesting stories like how his dad burned down his house after an argument. Prof got a lot of money from flipping a house and dealing drugs before he bacame a successful rapper.
not yet Podcast 110. Snook. August 24, 2026. "Stalker Reddit Threads."
111.
. July 8. "Terrifying Canadian Wilderness Horror Stories." missed writing about.
Podcast 112. The Ringer Fantasy Football Show. August 28, 2026. "The Boring Players That Will Win Your League." They talk about players that they think others will overlook. I suspect now that the NFL season is starting there will be a bunch of fantasy football podcasts making the top 100. This is the second one now.
Podcast 113. Stavvy's World. September 7, 2026. "#197- Joe List and Dan Soder." They talk about sports, politics, and do jokes. Crude humor.
Podcast 114. Countdown To. September 9, 2026. "Riley Green: Countdown To That's Just Me (with Pat McAfee). I thought this was going to be about football and it was a little bit but it was mostly about music as Riley Green is apparently a successful country music singer.
Podcast 115. Live Free with Josh Howerton. September 14, 2026. "How to Study the Bible (and ACTUALLY Grow Spiritually)." This podcast seemed like it had some good tips on different ways to study the Bible. They showed some methods to go into depth. They completley lost me when they did their Charlie Kirk montage on the end. It is terrible to honor someone who spread lies that led to the January 6 insurrection. They clipped Trump speaking favorably about Kirk. Only a false Christian teacher would lead people to support Donald Trump.
Podcast 116. Boho Beautiful Meditation. September 21, 2026. "10 Minute Guided Meditation for Inner Peace. Let Go of The Past & Trust Your Path." This is currently ranked number 21. This is 10 minutes of meditation. A soft soothing voice saying nice things with soft music in the background. I can't speak to the effectiveness of if it makes you feel better as I was emptying all of our garbages during this time instead of following the instructions to sit in a quiet place and breathe at the right times.
Podcast 117. Nova Wellness. September 23, 2026. "20 min Upper Body Burn. This is currently ranked 29 and it is my second exericise podcast. The first time I didn't follow along because the exercises were directed towards women. This one, I am sure, is primarily directed towards women as well but I thought I could benefit from it. When I have been exercising I usually run on the elliptical. I don't do enough strength exercises. I am changing that next week and want to do three days of cardio and three days of strength exercises. I did the exercises of this podcast for 20 minutes and felt like I got a good workout. When you don't do strength exercises for years, then you definitely feel it.
Podcast 118. Journey with Johnny. September 23, 2026. "Are You Young-Keu-Keu or Old Keu-Keu? What's Trending in Korea." He talked about trends in Korea and America. It reminded me of this lady in A Series of Unfortunate Events who was obsessed with what was in and what was out.

102 Podcasts
I am too far behind on writing about my podcasts. I am just going to write a short thing about them. This post will catch me up to 102 podcasts I have listened on the Spotify 100. Because of movement in and out of the top 100 it will take a lot more than 100 to complete this list. Next up is number 62 ranked JYP Podcast. I will try to not get so behind on updating this.
64. The Rest is History. I listened to an episode released May 19 titled, "Empress Matilda: Civil War and the Fight for the Throne." It was interesting hearing the history behind some royalty power battles in the Roman Empire in 1110.
65. Part of the Problem. I listened to an episode released May 20 titled, "Ryan Grim." The conversation here was largely about the Iran war from a libertarian perspective. They were critical of Trump. I looked back and the host of the podcast endorsed Trump. Insane to me that anyone would think this current behavior from Trump is surprising when he literally campaigned on committing war crimes in his 2016 presidential campaign. Yet, he somehow got a bunch of anti-war types to support him just based on his word. Which is also crazy considering his track record of constantly lying.
66. The Factenate. I listened to an episode released May 19 titled, "Roy Rogers: The 'King of the Cowboys.'" The cool thing about listening to random podcasts like this is discovering that I can find it interesting to learn the history of a person who I knew nothing about to begin with. The only thing I knew about Roy Rogers before this is that he has a famous name. It was cool hearing the background of how he came from a rural area and found fame.
67. Big Deal. I listened to an episode released May 21 titled, "How to be more successful than 99% of people." Some interesting ideas about how people should not try to go to the best universities but go to quality universities where they can be among the best there. If you can't be toward the top it is better to go to a lower university.
68. Jamie Social. I listened to an episode released May 18 titled, "No one wants to hear you because you do this." This podcast is talking about a specific problem people have with talking too much and not asking enough questions. It says you should try to talk about others if you want to have conversation. I learned this same thing from a mission companion I had, Elder Erekson, who was really good with people. I told him how I think it's difficult talking to people. He said to me something like, "You like talking about yourself right? Everybody does. If you want people to want to talk to you then ask them questions and get them to talk about themselves." I think this is true.
69. BBC Radio 1. I listened to an episode released May 26 titled, "Lola Young (Radio 1's Big Weekend 2026)." This was basically just listening to a short concert. I am not sure how Spotify classifies this as a podcast. Sometimes it is just music. But I think it's probably good for me to be exposed to some different types of music. I am not big into music. This is kind of too far away to remember exactly how I liked it but I think the music was okay.
70. The Unplanned Podcast with Matt & Abby. I listened to an episode released May 27 and titled, "Love is Blind, Baby#2 & Postpartum Depression w/ Zack and Bliss." Once again, I think it is amazing that I can be interested in just hearing the background of people who I don't know. Zack and Bliss met on some reality show called Love is Blind where you talk to each other a lot but don't see each other. They are now married and have a second baby on the way. I would have no interest in watching a reality show like this but it was interesting hearing their story.
71. Girls Gotta Eat. I listened to an episode released June 1 titled, "If this Was YOur Last Single Summer featuring Tunde Oyeneyin." The good thing about listening to all these podcasts I would not normally listen to is I am often exposed to podcasts that I think are interesting even though they are out of the zone of what I would normally listen to. This is not one of those times. I thought they were just annoying.
72. Memes. I listened to this "episode" released April 11, 2023 titled, "Wazzup Beijing." This "podcast" is only 8 seconds long and only two words are said during it. Those words are "Wazzup Beijing." Not exactly sure how a podcast with an 8 second episode with the latest one in 2023 is currently ranked number 53 in Spotify's list.
73. Murder in America. I listened to an episode released May 29 titled, "Episode 247-Serial Killer: The Torso Killer-Richard Cottingham Part 2." This goes into a detective who went through unsolved cases and found many of them connected to a guy who was in prison for an attempted murder. The detective linked 20 murders to this guy. And the murderer claimed to have killed more than 80 people. They don't know the true number but they think it is more than twenty.
74. This American Life. I listened to an episode released May 31 titled, "137: The Book That Changed Your Life." This podcast tells four stories of books that changed people's lives. The most interesting to me was this guy who started collecting Lewis and Clark books. He wouldn't read them, he just collected them. He collected more and more until he had the biggest Lewis and Clark collection in the world. He worked in construction and used all his money beyond his needs on collecting Lewis and Clark books. He eventually started reading the books and became an expert on Lewis and Clark. He sold him books to a university and would go there and read and talk about Lewis and Clark.
75. The Deck. I listened to an episode released June 3. It was titled, "Clarence and Marjorie Paulson (2 of Clubs, Minnesota)." This was about a double murder in July 1984 in Minnesota. The podcast reviewed evidence and there is a suspect but nothing is proven and the case is unsolved.
76. My Favorite Murder. The episode I listened to was released June 3 and was titled, "Rewind with Karen & Georgia -99 Shink Kick." This episode revisits an episode originally released in December 2017. The two hosts both told one murder story. One was about a girl who lied so much for tha approval of her parents. She faked report cards, she faked like she was going to a university, she even bought books and learned about the topics of her study to trick her parents into thinking she was studying it for school. Eventually, she and her boyfriend plotted to murder her parents for the life insurance money. They staged a break in to look like a robbery and murder. Her mom was killed but her dad survived the attack. There is a Netflix documentary on this murder titled, "What Jennifer Did" that I am putting on my list of movies to watch. The other murder was a woman who was murdered in 1960 by a Catholic priest. The priest was convicted of the murder 57 years later in 2017.
77. Dr. Insanity. The episode I listened to was released June 1. It was titled, "Mom Discovers Her 13 Year Old Son Just Killed Someone." This tells the story of a 13 year old who is obsessed with serial killers who wants to be a serial killer himself. He likes following the story of murderers. He likes the TV show Dexter. In my opinion, you are a bad mom if you let your 13 year old watch Dexter. He murdered his elderly neighbor across the street.
78. Danny Jones. Episode released June 8. Title is "'Pentagon is on Red Alert' Mossad Just Declared as #1 Threat.'" Anti every war. Thought it was interesting how they could criticize other presidents but wouldn't mention Trump's name when criticizing him until the end. They use the dumb "Russia-gate" terminology and can't say Ukraine is the good guy.
79. We Might be Drunk. Episode June 8. Titled "Anthony Jeselnik w/ Sam Morril & Mark Normand." They talked some about Norm MacDonald. He was my favorite back in my teenage days.
80. The Megyn Kelly Show. June 12. "Austin Metcalf's Father Speaks Out, Plus False Karmelo Anthony Narratives, and Blake Lively Legal Fees Ruling, with Mark Geragos and Arthur..." Megyn Kelly is annoying. I embarrassingly used to like her back in my Fox News days. Shed efinitely has some fake anger issues.
81. Science vs. June 25. "Raw Milk: Secret Superfood." Interesting podcast debunking some pro raw milk propaganda. Apparently there is a reason pasteurization exists. There are some risks to drinking raw milk.
82. House of R. June 29. "'House of the Dragon' Season 3 Episode 2 Reactions. Talk the Throne." I was wondering if this would get me interested in this show but it didn't. I don't think I would like this show as I do prefer there to be at least one good guy and it doesn't sound like there is.
83. The Rest is Science. June 28. "The Audio Illusion That Proves We Don't Experience Reality." Talked a lot about different illusions. Some audio where some people hear Laurel and some hear Yanny. They say it is based on experiences.
84. Friends Keep Secrets. May 26. "The Halsey Episode." Most interesting thing in the episode was when two people who write music were talking to each other. One of them always writes the words first and the music second. The other always writes the music first and the words second. Writing words first seems easier to me but the one who always writes the music first says it is the only way he has ever done it. I did find this episode interesting and thought all the people on it were likeable.
85. Flightless Bird. June 30. "Live in Austin: Bats, Lizardman, Rosabel, & The Yogurt Shop Murders." This podcast was filmed in front of a large audience in Austin, Texas. They travelled there. Most interesting part of the podcast was hearing the bat expert talk about how misunderstood bats are and how they help the environment.
86. The Prestige TV Podcast. June 29. "'The Bear' Season 5, Episodes 5-8: Every Second Counts." This podcast they talk about The Bear. Apparently early on this was a cultural penomenon. They said the show would have been better if they ended a season early but at the same time said that people who quit the show early missed out. I keep hoping that I can find podcasts talking about TV shows interesting but that hasn't happened and it hasn't made me want to watch the show.
87. The Big Picture. June 29. "The 10 Best Movies of 2026...So Far." Lists of movies people liked on this podcast for the first half of the year: 28 Years Later, Project Hail Mary, Furious, Disclosure Day, Masters of the Universe, Maddie's Secret, Back Rooms, The Drama, Blue Heron, Obsession, Nirvana the band the show the movie. Only one I have seen is Project Hail Mary which I listened to the book as well. I thought it was an awesome book and movie. The others I looked into a bit to see if I wanted to watch them and I don't.
88. The Zach Lowe Show. July 2. "Emergency Pod! The Celtics Trade Jaylen Brown to the 76ers!" The hosts thing the Jaylen Brown trade was worse than doing nothing for the Celtics. They talked a little bit about the Lakers Jazz Walker Kessler trade and they said the Jazz made out like bandits.
89. Stan:a. July 3. "Over 20 Million Views?! Why Are People Absolutely Obsessed With K-pop Reaction Videos?" This is a Korean language podcast. It had English captions but I was listening to this in the van as I drove. I dutifully listened to the entire thing in Korean. Words I understood: "K-pop," "music video," and "autoplay." I thought it was interesting in Korean they use the English words for these things.
90. Day in the Life. June 25. "Day in the Life with Cody Johnson." Heard some music here.
91. The Deck. July 1. "An Important Announcement from Ashley Flowers." This episode was only 4 minutes long and it was her announcing that she was going to end the podcast at the end of the summer.
92. So True with Caleb Hearon. July 2. "Jack Martin Returns." These guys talked about being in Pizza Movie.
93. The Matt Walsh Show. July 8. "She Slept With Her Celebrity Crush?! Uncovering Reddit's Worst Horror Stories." Matt Walsh talks about things like marriage and dating. I agreed with a lot of what he said, especially regarding how you should make a commitment beyond dating if you expect a relationship to last. I couldn't help thinking as he was judging all these random Reddit people how he was a prominent Trump supporter last election and how he would talk about others who act like Trump compared to how he talks about Trump.
94. The Meidas Touch Podcast. July 9. "Nebraska Town Hall Erupts over Trump's Agenda." I liked this podcast because it showed a lot of a town hall where people were heckling a Republican Congressman for supporting the awful things Trump does. Unfortunately, this is surely not representative of his district and I am confident that most people in his district support thing such as ICE throwing people into concentration camps with no due process.
95. 48 Hours. July 9. "I Remember Everything." This is a story of some sexual assault and rape victims. Tells the story of an escape. How to help other victims. And a story of how victims can get blamed when reporting sexual assault when the aggressor is popular.
96. Kurgesagt-In a Nutshell. July 24. “What Actual Aliens Might Look Like.” Speculation based on scientific ideas about what aliens might look like on other planets.
97. Afro Nation Portugal 2026. July 27, 2026 “Tyla-Is it Love." This was music that I didn't really like.
98. The Fantasy Footballers- Fantasy Football Podcast. July 30, 2026. “Unsolved Mysteries + Camp Injury Updates.” This gives some advice about drafting in fantasy football.
99. Soundbuttonspace. August 4, 2026. “Momomoyouth Sound Effect” This podcast was literally 1 second long. It was a sound effect.
100. Julian Dorey Podcast. August 3, 2026. Ranked 71 when started. “Charlie Kirk Investigator Unloads on Rigged Case.” Baron Coleman. These guys have some flawed thinking about conspiracies. No evidence needed for a conspiracy. The idea that Israel wanted to assassinate Charlie Kirk because things he said is crazy to me. Baron Coleman said nobody has broken more campaign promises in history than Trump. It's interesting to hear from people who were Trump supporters and their reasons to stop supporting him. There reasons for stop supporting him aren't of course his massive corruption, but dumb things like not doing more to fight against life saving vaccines.
101. Spotify Live. August 14, 2026. Ranked 2 when started. “Camera-Live in Nashville.” Music.
102. The Prosecutors. August 19, 2026. "383. The Lindsay Clancy Trial Part 11." They talked about the Lindsay Clancy trial. I heard never heard of Lindsay Clancy but their audience is familiar with this as this is part 11. Lindsay Clancy is a mom who murdered her three children ages 5, 3, and an infant. The defense is saying she was in postpartum psychosis so she should not be criminally responsible. This podcast talked a lot about missteps by the prosecutors. Hopefully Clancy doesn't get away with this.

Flagrant Review
This is my 63rd podcast. It is currently ranked 73. I listened to an episode released April 22 titled, "Tom Segura on Surviving Joey Diaz Megadose, Discovering Andrew Tate & 'Exposing' Garth Brooks Secret." There are way too many comedy podcasts. Just more standard shock humor. I did think there was some interesting conversation about the business side of comedy. They talked about negotiating how much money they get. Some shady things clubs do when there is a bonus for selling out how they say there are last minute cancellations so it doesn't count as a sell out. They talked about Clint Eastwood making movies and how he only does one take. I give this 1/5. It gets one point for the interesting conversations.

The Why Files: Operation Podcast Review
This is my 62nd podcast. It is currently ranked 55. The episode I listened to was released April 20. It was titled, "Basement: Daniel Whiteson. CERN, Dark Matter, and the Aliens Next Door." After listening to the last podcast it was somewhat refreshing to listen to people talking who have some brain cells. Whiteson is a researcher on CERN's Large Hadron Collider. They have a machine that smashes protons together every 24 nanoseconds. They are looking for when a different than expected outcome happens from colliding protons. They talked a bunch about aliens and if they met us how we could learn from each other. Whiteson talked about a book he is writing where there are dark matter aliens who are already here but we don't know it. Whiteson is into philosophy and he says more scientists should consider philosophy as there are a lot of interesting scientific philosophical questions. I give this show a 4/5 for the interesting conversation. I minus one point for the host sincerely believing that we live in a simulation. I just think that has to be one of the least plausible explanations for things.
2 Bears 1 Cave Review
This is my 61st podcast. It is currently ranked number 46. I listened to an episode released April 20 titled, "The End is Here w/ Ari Shaffir." Another "comedy" podcast. This podcast was pro-alcohol and pro-drugs. He criticizes people who oppose it saying they really haven't experienced life and are missing out on so many experiences. Meanwhile he describes entire days and nights of doing nothing but drinking. He thinks drinking is the only experience of life and therefore those who don't do it are missing out. I bet this guy cannot comprehend the joy of a sober day of hiking. They also mentioned some event they were hosting saying Christians, Jews, and conservatives will be there. I think people like this are more influential on so-called Christians, the political type, than Jesus or anything written in the Bible. I give this 0/5 for being ridiculous and bad for the country.
TruRed Crime Review
This is my 60th podcast. This is currently out of Spotify's top 100 podcasts. I listened to an episode released April 20. The title of the episode is 15 Year Old Graped In the Playground." This podcast was mostly just playing police interviews with the suspect. I started off thinking I would like this podcast because I think it is important to tell crime stories. I thought this podcast was terrible. I learned very little context of the crime. I think the host should have given some background information. I give this 1/5 for telling the story with no context. It gets 1 point because I like listening to crime interviews but it was hard to understand the crime.
The Basement Yard Review
This is my 59th podcast. It is currently 45. I have been behind on this blog so trying to do some catch up. The episode I listened to was from April 20. It is titled, "Mr. Gabagool is Here." This is one of them comedy podcasts. One of the hosts shared a story about a woman on a plane who asked him if he was Mr. Gabagool. He was confused by this. She identified him as having a podcast but he wasn't sure where she got the name from. This podcast had too much profanity as unfunny people use profanity so others will laugh at unfunny things. I give it 1/5.

The Watch Review
This is my 58th podcast. It is currently ranked number 54. The title of this episode is "'Avengers: Doomsday' Footage, 'Euphoria' S3E2, and 'Margo's Got Money Troubles' Episodes 1-3." It was released April 20th. My biggest worry about this podcast is that there would be some spoilers about Avengers: Doomsday. I am pretty extreme when it comes to trying to avoid spoilers. In the ideal world, I would want to know nothing about the movie going into it. If it is a Marvel movie then I am going to see it so I don't need to see any trailers about it. I don't like watching trailers of movies that I know I am going to see. If one comes on I tune it out. I get annoyed sometimes with spoilers on the episode image shown on the streaming service. No matter how hard I have tried to avoid spoilers, Disney has given me spoilers of characters who will appear in Daredevil: Born Again through their images they show on the streaming service. So I was preparing myself for a new level of spoilage because I wasn't going to be avoiding it this time. I committed to listen to the top 100 podcasts, the newest episode as it came up so I am required to do so. Fortunately, for me all my stress and worry about this turned out to be for no reason and there were no spoilers. They said before Avengers: Doomsday comes out that they are going to rerelease Avengers Endgame with footage that links to Avengers: Doomsday. That does not give away much. I probably would need to know this to watch Avengers Endgame again as I have seen it already. Hopefully, they don't mess anything up. It would be interesting if they put Doctor Doom in it and then Robert Downey Jr. is playing two different characters. I think it will be good.
Then they talked about Euphoria. I suppose the only thing that could be better than watching Euphoria is listening to people talk about how they watched Euphoria so I at least got that going for me. One of the hosts criticized the writer for putting commentary in the show about California's zoning laws and how difficult it is to build in California. He says he doesn't agree that all Californians should be worried about it being difficult to build in California. This mindset is super annoying to me. Zoning laws are the number one thing that we can control that can help bring housing prices down. Wherever you go in the country, you have local governments working hard to make sure housing stays expensive as the people who own put restrictions on those who do not. In somewhere like California, local governments consistently put obstacles in the way of building. In Salt Lake County, you have people speaking out against every attempt to put in high density housing in various places. Somewhere like Rigby, Idaho, you have laws requiring at least one acre of land for housing. So from the most urban to the most rural, the government is micromanaging decisions regarding housing that restricts natural decisions people will make with the free market and increases the cost of housing everywhere. Demand cannot keep up with supply when demand keeps being restricted. Then you get this richy rich podcast host talking like he can't even understand why people would want to be able to build houses in California.
I did find some of this interesting and some not. Mostly it was just the Marvel stuff which was short. Mostly they were reviewing this boring Euphoria show. I dock this podcast one point for profanity, one point for being a NIMBY, and one point for the uninteresting topic. I give this podcast 2/5.

Conspiracy Theories Review
This is my 57th podcast. It is currently ranked number 67. The episode I listened to was titled, "The Secret Twin Study: Files Sealed until 2065." The episode was released April 15. This was a really interesting story about a study conducted by researchers colluding with an adoption agency. In the study, they separated twins and sent them to different families of different backgrounds. They didn't tell the families that the twins had a twin so they never knew. As part of the agreement to adopt these children the parents were told they were part of a study, the researchers would come visit the house and ask their children questions periodically. But the parents never knew they had twins. Obviously, the study is super immoral as you shouldn't harm people to learn Robot Erasmus style. As the kids grew older several of them learned they had twins. There was a big backlash against the study. The study was never published and it is sealed until 2065. The narrator of the podcast kept asking why the study hasn't been published and why it is sealed but it seems obvious to me that it wasn't released because it was already getting backlash before it was released. It seems the immorality of the study has been exposed and I don't think it goes deeper but more details would continue to get people angry. The narrator kept acting as if there was a deeper conspiracy because that is the theme of the show. I don't think there is a deeper conspiracy because the records can be recovered by the people in the study though it isn't the easiest process. If the researchers were hiding something more nefarious than what has already been exposed they could destroy the records instead of sealing them at Yale. It was an interesting listen. I dock it one point for going too deep on the conspiracy when the story itself was interesting. It was not needed to go deeper than that. I give this 4/5 for being an interesting listen.

Louis Theroux Podcast Review
This is my 56th podcast. I am slow on writing about this after I listened and this podcast is currently out of Spotify's top 100. I listened to an episode titled, "Yorgos Lanthimos discusses working with Emma Sone, suffering for his art, and directing a Bourne movie." The episode was released on April 20. Reading the comments on this podcast a lot of his listeners complained about Theroux interrupting the guest too much. Theroux responded in the comments and said he tries to keep the energy high, unpredictable, and give context to listeners who don't know the guest. He said the podcast would come back in a few months. So I guess he is taking a break, which is maybe why the podcast fell out of the top 100. It was possibly annoying to the guest, but I didn't have a problem with the interruptions because I think it worked with his style of trying to get quick answers and keeping it lively. Yorgos talked about a movie he directed called Dogtooth. I thought it sounded like an interesting story and it was cool hearing how they were able to make it with a low budget. I thought maybe I would watch it but I looked into it a bit and read that there is some pornography in it so I got to skip it. Yorgos talked about how when he directs he does not like to tell the actors what to do too much. He likes them to have their lines and the story but not tell them exactly how to say the lines and not to explain to the actors the motivations of the characters. He says he does this so the actors are free to come up with interpretations of their characters, he believes it can benefit the films by allowing the actors to use their own creativity. He will step in and say for them to do it differently if he thinks it is not good for the film. I thought that was an interesting approach. With Emma Stone he directed a movie titled, "Bugonia." Perhaps I would watch it some day. Theroux asked Yorgos if he liked to watch Marvel movies. I thought this was a funny question to ask a movie snob. Yorgos said if something caught his interest, but then he couldn't think of any Marvel movies he saw. Theroux broadened the topic and asked if he liked any super hero movies. Yorgos said to name some but he hadn't seen any that were named. I was surprised that when they were talking about Marvel movies that neither of them mentioned Emma Stone playing Peter Parker's love interest Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider Man and The Amazing Spider Man 2 considering that they were talking about Emma Stone just before this. Overall, I thought this podcast was an interesting listen. I got to dock it a point for the unnecessary profanity and give it a 4/5.

Modern Wisdom Review
This is my 55th podcast. It is currently ranked number 40. The episode I listened to is titled, "The Rise of History's Greatest Emperor: An Untold Story." Chris Williamson hosts the show, his guest was Alex Petkas. Petkas has a podcast titled, "Cost of Glory." In this episode Williamson interviewed Petkas about the life of Julius Caesar. Williamson asked a few questions, but Petkas was speaking most of the time without questions telling about the life of Caesar. I don't know much about Caesar's life so I thought it was interesting to learn about. Some interesting tidbits of Caesar's life include how when he was captured by pirates and convinced the pirates to raise his ransom. Petkas said he wanted his ransom raised to make his worth in the eyes of the Romans to be higher. He promised the pirates he would execute them and he did. Petkas went through Caesar's life all the way until his assassination. Petkas seemed like he really liked Caesar. It seems he thinks he is a model of leadership. I thought Petkas seemed too positive toward Caesar but with my limited knowledge on the subject it was difficult to say too much. Petkas says one of Caesar's mistakes was being too kind to his enemies and pardoning them because they were the ones who would assassinate him later. Personally, I think his mistake would be declaring himself dictator for life and trying to get absolute power. I think Petkas treats Caesar's ambition as a recipe for greatness. I don't really like when people treat war like people and people who seek power as great. I just don't like the terminology because even if it is not intended that way, it makes it seem like a positive thing to accumulate power at all costs. Just a quick side note, I did think it was kind of weird when Petkas was rating Cleopatra saying she probably wasn't a 10 but maybe an 8. Just weird when people rate women like that. Williamson did not talk much so a lot of the rating of the podcast necessarily has to go on the guest. Even though Williamson did not talk much, he did find some time to insert some profanity into the podcast. I am giving this podcast a 3/5. Minus one for profanity. I will minus one more point because I don't like the way he was making it seem like I should admire Caesar. It gets three points for being interesting and educational value.

Today, Explained Review
This is my 54th podcast. It is currently ranked number 42. The episode I listened to was titled, "The Secret Soundtrack to your Life." The episode aired April 17. This episode was about a type of music called Sync Music. It started with the famous music that is shown with Curb Your Enthusiasm. This music is famous enough that I know it is from Curb Your Enthusiasm even though I haven't seen a single episode. It is played to make a video funny when someone is doing something awkward. The origin of this music is an Italian film called La Bellissima Estate or The Beautiful Summer. It is called Frolic. Later it was on some commercials, Larry David heard it in a commercial and made it the theme song for Curb Your Enthusiasm. So Sync Music is music that is in the background of video. It is made for video. It often spreads around and is used many times. The host interviewed a maker of sync music. He asked him if he was worried about AI taking his job as it got better at making music. The guy said he wasn't worried. He thought AI would just make people need to do their jobs better. He said AI can only take what has already been created but it cannot make anything new like an artist can. He said he isn't a defender of AI but he isn't scared of it. I like his attitude regarding AI. Instead of being scared of it and crying about it like so many do, he accepts the reality of the situation and understand how he can contribute in a way a machine can't to help keep himself in his business. I thought this was an interesting listen. I give it a 5/5.
Breaking News from Pod Saves America Review
This is my 53rd podcast. It is currently ranked number 37. The episode I listened to is titled, "Trump Claims Strait Open in MAJOR Update on War with Iran." This episode was released April 17. I thought they made some good points about how Trump causes problems and then gets credit from many for solving the problems that he caused. Everything is worse in Iran than before. A younger radical leader took over for the older radical leader, no progress made on stopping Iran's nuclear program, many people died, and U.S. is in a weaker position than before. It's definitely true that the United State's ability to deter Iran is weaker than before as all we did was demonstrate to Iran that they do have the ability to shut down much of the world's oil supply and there isn't much we can do about it. Iran knows we are less likely to respond militarily than before once this is over. The hosts of this podcast were acting like the war in Iran was over with this deal but the next day after this podcast was released Iran had already closed the Strait of Hormuz again. The hosts also addressed how Trump has been manipulating the stock market over and over again with his statements to help himself, his family, and friends make billions of dollars with some insider trading. I give this podcast 4/5. Minus one point for some cursing.
Therapuss with Jake Shane Review
This is my 52nd podcast. It is currently ranked 35. The episode I listened to was titled, "Session 116: Adela." The episode was released April 16. The name of Jake Shane's podcast comes from Thera- because he gives advice to his guests and puss- because apparently he gained his fame by going viral for reviewing octupuses. This podcast started slow and boring. They talked about going to Coachella, which seems like the worst. They talked about the power going out and them not being able to charge their phones with the tone of people who were facing a zombie appocalypse or a nuclear holocaust. I thought it was annoying what a big deal they made of it though to be fair this could have been some self-deprecating humor but I just didn't see any clear jokes in there so it was just annoying to me.
I did think the conversation with the singer Adela was interesting. This is one thing I like about how I am doing podcasts right now. I am going through listening to the most recent episode of the highest rated podcast without considering whether I would be interested in the podcast. I want to learn what other people are listening to and also to learn about things I would not normally learn about and expand beyond my interests. Before this podcast experiment I would have never listened to this guy Jake Shane interview a singer Adela because I would not have been interested in the host or the singer but in listening I found it an intersting conversation even though I still would have no interest in listening to the podcast host or listening to Adela's music in the future. Adela was born in Slovokia. She said she grew up watching Hannah Montana and was a fan of that character and thought that Miley Cyrus was Slovokian because the show was dubbed into her language. When she found out Miley Cyrus was an American who spoke English she decided that she needed to learn how to speak English. She taught herself English first by watching Hannah Montana in English with subtitles. Then she said one day she understood it and realized she didn't need subtitles anymore. She says Duolingo is fake news and the real way to learn languages is to immerse yourself. She says it is better to watch TV in the language than to use these language learning programs. She might know something about this because I think she sounds like an American. But she also had moved to London and has spent some time in English speaking countries to help her improve her English. I think she is probably too harsh on Duolingo though she is right that immersion is the better method but Duolingo I think could be good for people who can't commit the time to that. Listening to her I was disappointed to hear that she sexualizes her songs but this makes since if she is a fan of Miley Cyrus. It's a shame that singers feel they have to do this and they can't just stand on their talent because she is obviously smart and talented. It's too bad these singers who are inspired by terrible examples become terrible examples to their young fans. There is no sense of responsibility to be a good influence.
I am giving this podcast 2/5. Minus one point for profanity, minus a point for the annoying moments, and minus a point for the terrible example. Two points for the background on Adela's story. You got to respect the determination and ambition to achieve her goals even though I am disappointed in society in general for creating perverse incentives for female artists to sexualize their songs.
Spotify for Creators Review
This is my 51st podcast. It is currently ranked number 20. The episode I listened to is titled, "Creator Convo with Artist Friendly." This aired on April 7. This was only seven minutes long. The entire podcast seemed like it was an ad for another podcast called Artist Friendly. It seemed directed specifically towards artists and creators. I am going to put this right in the middle and give it a 3/5. It may not be fair for me to rank it because I am not the target audience and there may be some who find it useful. But for me I didn't find it interesting.

Creepcast Review
This is my 50th podcast. It is currently ranked 39. The title of the episode is "Whitefall." It was released April 5. The hosts names are Hunter Hancock and Isaiah Priestly. They read and comment on horror stories. In this episode they read a book titled Whitefall, written by CK Walker. This episode is like listening to an audiobook with some pauses that add commentary. I thought the book was interesting. It did have some flaws in it thatIf you ever plan on reading Whitefall I recommend you read that first before reading this post. After that spoiler alert I will continue. Whitefall is about this guy riding on a bus. Many colorful characters are introduced. The story is told first person by the protaganist. He is obsessing over his girlfriend on the bus drive because he just found out she is pregnant. He was going to leave her for another city but after this news he is going to pay for her to come after her. The bus stops in a place called Whitefall. He is stranded there with other passangers at a big bus station due to a hurricane. They are there for weeks. They don't know where the workers are. Different buses break into tribes and there starts to be murders and cannibalism. They are there for weeks. The storytellers of this book kept interrupting to comment about how they broke into tribes too quickly to be realistic. Also, they interrupted to laugh about how one of the narrators was doing one of the characters voices to sound like Kermit the Frog. Many jokes were told. The bus came right after the protagonist finally succumbed to canniblism. Unlike the villains of the story, the protagonist didn't murder his food but ate a person who died naturally. After the trip, he found out he hadn't been gone weeks but it was only a day and that there was no place called Whitefall. But the guy who he was travelling with on the bus was really dead. The book doesn't explain what exactly happened. A funny scene was when one of the villains of the story who had been murdering and eating people had saved two uneaten candy bars that he started eating on the bus ride out. The hosts had some theories of different metaphors the book was telling. I liked the book overall and liked the hosts of the podcast and thought they had some funny commentary. I think I would rate the book a little lower than the podcast itself. Probably a 3/5 but still an enjoyable read. The book at some profanity and the hosts added their own so it gets the minus point for profanity. I give this podcast 4/5.
